About Athena
Athena has been a past Director and Assistant Director for this chapter. She is an experienced Mortgage Advisor, licensed Broker since 1994 and licensed life and health insurance agent who has also been a real estate investor for over 10 years and South Bay resident for 20 years. Prior to South Bay Funding, she owned a mortgage brokerage and banking firm for 12 years. Her investment focus is on apartment buildings, resort condos as well as out-of-state properties.
Since teaching is one of her passions, she teaches investment seminars for the Torrance Unified School District, coaches monthly games of Cash Flow 101 by Robert Kiyosaki and is a national speaker on the subject of creating a 100% referral business in the mortgage industry. She became a millionaire at 28 and has a great deal to share in terms of the dos and don'ts of real estate investing. She has always enjoyed teaching and, as a former Violinist, she has also taught the Suzuki method.
She was born in Washington DC, raised in Canada and currently lives in Torrance. She has two sisters, is single with no children and enjoys lounging around with her cats, running, other sports, live music, knitting, travel and raising money for local charities.
